Ziyana Books is a series of toddler books aimed at teaching children South African vernacular languages. Suitable for all ages, the series is a fun picture dictionary that aids parents, teachers and care-givers to teach young ones, SA vernacular languages in a fun and colourful way. The series of books is inspired by little Ziyana Izibusiso Hlongwane, who has a passion for learning and would like to see other children enjoy learning Zulu or their home languages. Sinenhlanhla Mkhize, Ziyana’s mom, created the series to assist in preserving our beautiful languages before they are lost due to lack of educational material.
